I have worked in SEO content writing since early 2020, and have been writing for industry leaders and international brands on the web since 2015.

Amazon

During a brief project contract with Amazon, I stepped in to handle excess work that a previous contractor left unfulfilled. After stepping in, I quickly completed all remaining pages in the wholesale packing, auto supply stores, dental supplies, and lab tech categories, enabling my employer to hold the contract for another cycle.

C.H. Robinson

While writing for C.H. Robinson, I conducted detailed research into trending topics in the logistics industry to craft high-ranking blog posts that generated significant traffic gains for the site. I drove the strategy for selecting content topics, and complied with complex brand voice guidelines while still achieving key SEO metrics for keyword density and EEAT.

Neighborly

During an extensive project for Neighborly, I wrote several fully researched pages per month for various Neighborly-owned brands across the United States and Canada. While managing the project, I maintained close contact with executive management at Neighborly, and submitted topic recommendations and page revisions to the internal team. From there, I managed the progression of tasks through Monday.com, and provided revisions where necessary to align the content more closely with brand guidelines.

Mr. Rooter

I wrote hundreds of blogs for Mr. Rooter’s US and Canada corporate sites, along with dozens of blogs for individual locations who sought the services of an experienced SEO content professional. This project required me to balance common-sense SEO practices for large corporate sites and local-SEO practices for the individual franchises. Both sites saw page rankings increase significantly, with all pages appearing in the top-10 search results. This project also involved the creation of case studies and press releases that highlighted large jobs undertaken by the individual franchises to help build site authority.

DeVry

While writing for DeVry I significantly built out their medical billing and coding course section, positioning the university as a leader within that niche educational space. I also managed bulk content projects for the client, which required me to write in excess of 60 pages per month while still keeping up with writing demands for more than 10 other clients.

Villatel

Villatel’s blog silo was the largest project I have taken on to date. The project required myself and an SEO analyst to create a well-siloed blog section almost entirely from scratch, as the previous contractor used early-stage generative AI without spot checking the articles. I wrote more than 30 pages per month for this contract, each being a well-researched and highly-detailed guide to activities and lodgings in the Central Florida region. I was able to leverage generative AI to create robust outlines that hit target keywords, which I then fleshed out using my knowledge as a former resident of the region in question. In addition to the above, the Analyst and I worked hard to overcome a silo structure that was generated by very early stage ChatGPT, and spent days scrubbing it for redundancies in an attempt to make the project progress as smoothly as possible.

This particular client also required a careful management of tone, moreso than most, as they wanted to position themselves as a friendly, conversational tour guide, rather than as the voice of a hotel/villa brand.

Mr. Electric

While writing for Mr. Electric I personally handled the creation of 15 blogs per month, plus the revision of at least five service pages per month. My efforts increased the traffic to each revised page by at least 104%, and the new blogs increased overall site traffic by more than 23%.

Mr. Appliance

While writing for Mr. Appliance, I managed communications with both the US and Canada brands, and maintained tonal consistency across each brand. I created an average of eight blogs per month, and improved site traffic to the US corporate site by 32% and the Canada site by 27%.

PINK Adventure Tours

I wrote several blogs for PINK Adventure Tours, including thorough guides to Sedona and Las Vegas, which, as of this writing, remain high in the search results for the target keywords. These pages required thorough on-site research at popular tourist destinations in order to locate underappreciated gems in both areas. I was also able to leverage my time spent in college near Sedona to inform the creation of these blogs.

US Hemp Wholesale

US Hemp Wholesale was a longtime client of mine that trusted me to drive the entirety of their content strategy. My content, plus the efforts of a backend SEO analyst, increased sitewide traffic by 86%.

Of the blogs I wrote for this client, I’m particularly proud of the CBD Laws and Regulations by State page. This page is a painstakingly detailed breakdown of the CBD laws in every US State and territory, and at the time of publishing, was the top ranking page for the term “CBD Laws by State.” It also captured several page zero rankings for search terms related to CBD laws in individual states, and was updated on a semi-annual basis throughout the lifetime of the project.

The US Hemp Wholesale project was also the first project where I used hands on product testing via shipped samples to inform the writing of product pages. It also required me to walk the thin line of medical writing, as Google will de-list pages that overpromise the medical benefits of CBD products.

Rainbow International

Rainbow International was my first attempt at a major project using AI-generated content. At my employer’s request, I created well over 400 localized pages for various franchises of Rainbow International using an employer provided template that I heavily customized to be more effective. As this project took place in the early days of generative AI, the initial output was often poor, which forced me to spend a significant amount of time rewriting the initial output. Despite this notable setback, I wrote more than twice the amount of pages as the next most productive writer on the team, and increased traffic to individual franchise pages by as much as 300%.

Alliance Moving and Storage

The Alliance Moving & Storage project again allowed me to use my history of being well traveled to write in an educated manner about relocation services in the Chicagoland area. This project also carried some serendipity, as it coincided with my own cross-country move, allowing me to write authoritative moving guides and checklists informed by my own recent experiences.

American Home Protect

The American Home Protect challenged me to present an industry that most people find obnoxious or predatory (home warranties) in a positive light. Using careful market research and customer surveys, I was able to refine the site’s tone and land them a traffic increase of 54% and increased their leads by more than 30%.

Envision Family Law

Envision Family Law was one of my first legal clients. This gave me an opportunity to enter one of the most in-demand SEO spaces, and refine my writing for this field, which requires a careful touch as any factual errors can get a page de-listed from Google search results.

eTags

During my time writing for eTags, an online car titling and registration company, I crafted blog posts and revised existing service pages, increasing clicks by as much as 350% on some pages, and more than doubling the current impressions on every page I revised.

Ticketsmarter

Ticketsmarter was my first SEO content writing project, and to date one of my largest. The project required me to write more than 1000 pages, at an expected rate of seven per day. As soon as I completed my training and was placed on the project, I exceeded expectations, averaging 25 pages per day, and sometimes writing more than 30.

I generated significant traffic increases to the site by adding hundreds of pages, each tailored to specific acts and venues. The breadth of the project covered everything from live music to college sports, and allowed me to flex my muscles as a skilled, fast writer who is highly knowledgeable regarding the live events space in all its formats.

Hawkins, Inc.

Writing for Hawkins required a careful balance of SEO best practices and deep industry knowledge. As Hawkins manufactures chemicals, their industry was well outside of my typical knowledge base, which required me to work with what I had on the page, lightly refining the readability, layout, and keyword density of each page to generate higher traffic and conversion rates.

Lane Brown, LLC

Lane Brown LLC is one of several clients I’ve worked with in the field of personal injury law. Using my stockpiled knowledge of the industry and my personal understanding of the Chicago area, I refined their pages to rank better locally, and to not overfocus on just the city of Chicago. This approach increased both local traffic and site visits throughout the Midwest.

Asset Protection Planners

Asset Protection Planners proved to be one of the most complex projects I have ever handled. When we started working on the site, it was clear that it relied on long-outdated SEO principles, and needed to both have the number of pages and the length of each page significantly reduced.

To accomplish this task, we first combined all pages that were cannibalizing one another’s traffic. Next, I set forth whittling down the content on each page to a much more reasonable length, often reducing the page’s word count from 5000+ to less than 1000 words, dramatically increasing readability and site crawlability.

Lighthouse Life

Lighthouse Life faced significant brand pushback, as the industry they operated in (life insurance purchasing) is often viewed as predatory. I relied on marketing research and customer interviews to craft content that spoke to consumer concerns and alleviated preexisting negative conceptions surrounding my client’s industry.

LPI, Inc.

LPI, Inc. The owner of Aqua Living Stores, occasionally had me step in to write location pages and product descriptions. This task required in-depth research regarding specific areas in North Carolina, and the differences between similar models of hot tubs.

McDivitt Law Firm

Another of my personal injury clients. McDivitt Law was highly interested in improving local traffic in the Denver, Pueblo, and Colorado Springs areas. We balanced their desires to increase local traffic and maintain statewide traffic by updating the main page to include more references to individual cities throughout Colorado, and I created individualized local pages for each of their top services.

National Drug Screening

National Drug Screening was a bulk content project aimed specifically at increasing local traffic for more than 40 locations. This challenging task required me to re-contextualize identical services so that each page appeared distinct, a task I accomplished by using firsthand knowledge of each location to write to specific drug use concerns in various industries that made up the bulk of employers in each city.

Skin MD

SkinMD was a client I was uniquely suited to, as my partner is a trained esthetician. By speaking with them, and using market research data, I was able to rejuvenate the brand image of this Boston-area med-spa by refining their tone to be more welcoming and inclusive. I also delved deep into the specifics of each treatment to satisfy the desires of customers who need significant amounts of information to make a decision.

Through my efforts and those of an excellent SEO analyst who I worked with, we were able to retain the quality local traffic they already had, and improved their traffic in areas outside of Boston.

TruConnect

TruConnect presented an interesting challenge, as they needed to outrank government websites in order to achieve rank one position on Google. By carefully analyzing the government sites that related to the services offered by TruConnect, I wrote a refined, more digestible version of the government pages. Ultimately, we were able to prove that it is indeed possible to outrank a government website for a shared keyword.
